New Doctor Joins Henderson Memorial Clinic
February 26, 2008
Henderson will become home to a new physician this spring.
Dr. Jan Hausmann, who is board certified in internal medicine, will begin seeing patients at Henderson Memorial Clinic on March 3.
"We couldn’t be more pleased about Dr. Hausmann’s choice of Henderson as a home for his medical practice," Henderson Memorial Hospital CEO Mark Leitner said. "Anything that expands the health services available to residents of this community is good for our hospital. We believe Dr. Hausmann will prove to play an important role in improving healthcare in Henderson."
Hausmann, a Texas native, comes to East Texas from Hendersonville, Tenn., where he practiced medicine for five years.
"I’m excited about the opportunities this community offers," Hausmann said. "Henderson is a beautiful area of Texas, and everyone I’ve met here has been enthusiastic about their community. That says a lot."
As a general internist, Hausmann will see patients from a primary care perspective but is trained to treat and manage many illnesses affecting adults, such as blood pressure, diabetes, allergies, depression and infections.
"As the population of Henderson ages and we see more and more adults needing medical treatment," Leitner said, "it logically becomes more and more important that we have physicians who specialize in treating them."
Dr. Hausmann and his wife, Tanya, look forward to becoming a part of their new hometown.
"One of the things that attracted us to Henderson is the chance we have here to really make a difference in our community," Hausmann said. "Tanya and I both want to do more than just live here. We want to have an impact, and I, for one, can’t wait to get started."
Dr. Hausmann’s office is located at 317 Wilson Street. To make an appointment, call (903)-657-3915.
